Courses

Help with the cost of a course

The Company does not want anyone unable to attend for financial reasons. In many cases we can help — but we will ask what else you have tried first.

Where to start

Talk to us early

If you would like an initial discussion about funding your place, contact Scott Norris, who is responsible for Education Funding, or Duncan Couper, the Assistant Clerk.

Before the Company can consider helping, we need to be satisfied you have exhausted the other avenues open to you. So read what follows, and act on it, before getting in touch.

First

Where else the money might come from

In our experience, the delegates who benefit most from a course are also the ones who make the case well and raise the funding themselves.

Close to home

  • Can your employer fully or partly fund the course?
  • Can your own business fully or partly fund it?

Further afield

  • Your suppliers
  • Your customers
  • Trade companies you deal with
  • Anyone else who might offer a grant or a donation

Then

Come and talk to the Company

The Company is committed to ensuring that nobody otherwise eligible to attend one of its courses is prevented from doing so for financial reasons alone. Where appropriate, through its Charitable Trust, it provides substantial assistance to delegates who need it.
