The endowment
Built on the generosity of earlier Liverymen
It is the generous bequests of earlier Liverymen that enabled the Company to develop its work, and that still help fund the running of our renowned educational courses.
Through careful management of those endowments, together with the levy paid by present-day Liverymen, we carry out our programme of apprenticeships, scholarships, research and other charitable giving.
Plainly
Standing still is not good enough
The Worshipful Company of Farmers is not a wealthy livery company, and the present financial climate makes it increasingly challenging to pursue our current activities — let alone to do justice to future generations of young people in the industry.
To meet that, we must build on the tradition of benefaction begun by the earliest members of the Company. Our success depends on the support and willingness to help of everyone in it.
How to help
Giving to the Charitable Fund
Every gift, of any size, widens what the Company is able to award — and goes directly into the courses, scholarships and apprenticeships on these pages.
